PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A body was recovered in the Colorado River at Grand Canyon National Park on Tuesday, believed to be a boater who was reported missing the night before.

Around 9:15 a.m. on Monday, dispatchers were notified that a 71-year-old man had gone missing during a boating trip in the area of Lower Nankoweap Camp (river mile 53.5) along the Colorado River. Park rangers responded via helicopter, and a body was found Tuesday morning.

National Park Service (NPS) officials believe the body is that of the missing boater. His name has not been released.

NPS and the Coconino County Medical Examiner are investigating.

It’s the second death in as many days in the Colorado River at the national park. On Saturday, a 59-year-old Colorado man was found dead following a 10-day river trip.

Since June 16, a total of 11 deaths have been reported at the Grand Canyon.
