2 found dead inside car in Coconino County
COCONINO COUNTY, AZ (AZFamily) — The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office is working to learn what led up to the discovery of two bodies inside a car just miles off Interstate 17 and less than an hour south of Flagstaff earlier this week.
Deputies were called out to a report of two people who were believed to be unresponsive inside a car south of Stoneman Lake Road just before 4 p.m. on Monday. The road is about 25 miles south of Munds Park.
Deputies and paramedics from the Mormon Lake Fire Department found the pair inside, but deputies have yet to release their identities or any other details about the deaths.
The sheriff’s office said the investigation remains ongoing as it works to determine the cause and manner of death from the Coconino County Medical Examiner’s Office.
However, deputies said there are no “community safety concerns related to the investigation,” at this time.
