It’ll just be a matter of time before enough snow falls to officially kick off the winter season at Arizona Snowbowl! Last week, the ski resort reported its first snowfall of the season.

Starting Monday, Sept. 30, visitors can take advantage of the scenic gondola rides to see the fall colors as far the eye can see and take part in a number of family-friendly activities Monday through from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

On Fridays and Saturdays, sunset rides will be available allowing visitors to experience golden hour in a whole new light.

“Reaching up to 11,500 feet, the Arizona Gondola at Snowbowl delivers some of Flagstaff’s best views and fall photo opportunities, with sweeping views of the San Francisco volcanic field, cinder cones, Sedona’s red rocks, and the Grand Canyon,” the resort said.

The San Francisco Peaks can see snow in September if a strong cold front moves through the region, but Flagstaff often sees its first measurable snow in November.

Ski season is scheduled to start on Nov. 22. Click/tap here to get lift tickets.
