Need a break from the Valley heat? See the fall foliage at Arizona Snowbowl!
FLAGSTAFF, AZ (AZFamily) — While the Valley is experiencing unprecedented heat, those in Arizona’s High Country are feeling the start of fall, which brings colorful foliage and cooler nights.
It’ll just be a matter of time before enough snow falls to officially kick off the winter season at Arizona Snowbowl! If you can believe it, the ski resort reported its first snowfall of the season last month!

Visitors can take advantage of scenic gondola rides to see the fall colors and participate in a number of family-friendly activities through Sunday, Oct. 20.
Sunset rides will be available on Fridays and Saturdays, allowing visitors to experience golden hour in a whole new light.
“Reaching up to 11,500 feet, the Arizona Gondola at Snowbowl delivers some of Flagstaff’s best views and fall photo opportunities, with sweeping views of the San Francisco volcanic field, cinder cones, Sedona’s red rocks, and the Grand Canyon,” the resort said.
The San Francisco Peaks could see snow in September if a strong cold front moves through the region, but Flagstaff often sees its first measurable snow in November.
Ski season is scheduled to start on Nov. 22. Lift tickets are available now.
