I-17 fully reopens near Black Canyon City after closure due to Perry Tank Fire

The Perry Tank Fire has burned hundreds of acres and closed Interstate 17 southbound outside of Black Canyon City on Monday.

BLACK CANYON CITY, AZ (AZFamily) — All lanes of Interstate 17 are reopen north of the Valley after an hours-long closure due to a brush fire.

The roadway was completely reopen Tuesday morning after a partial closure was implemented near Sunset Point just after 9 p.m. on Monday.

Details are extremely limited, but the Bureau of Land Management says the Perry Tank Fire burned 200 acres, as of 8:30 p.m.

It’s 20% contained and BLM said crews were “making good progress.”

The northbound lanes were closed at around 2:15 p.m. but reopened at 2:40 p.m.

No other details about the brush fire have been released at this time.
