Person in critical condition after being shot in Surprise neighborhood
SURPRISE, AZ (AZFamily) — A person is seriously hurt after being shot in a Surprise neighborhood early Friday morning.
Around 4 a.m., Surprise police officers responded to a neighborhood near Jerry and Ocotillo streets, east of Grand Avenue, for reports of shots fired. As emergency crews arrived, they found one person who had been shot.
Police say the victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
Arizona’s Family news crews witnessed a large police presence and a portion of the neighborhood taped off. Over five patrol vehicles were lined in the street blocking the area. An alley in the neighborhood was also blocked with crime tape.
Details are limited at this time and no information about possible suspects has been released. Residents should avoid the area as police piece together what led up to the shooting.
