GOODYEAR, AZ (AZFamily) — The cause of death for a missing woman who was found in the desert near Goodyear in June was ruled accidental.

According to the medical examiner’s report, 46-year-old Angela Dwight’s fluid analysis showed a pattern similar to that of dehydration and she died due to heat exposure.

Dwight was first reported missing on June 15. Her family said she got a flat tire on her way home from work and told them she would be walking from the area of South Cotton Lane and MC-85. She never made it home.

Police found her vehicle near the location she described to her family, and a search began involving officers on the ground, drones, helicopters and police canines.

Dwight was found dead the next morning in an area west of South Cotton Lane, about 4 miles away from her car.

The day she went missing, the high temperature was 112 degrees.
