PHOENIX (AZFamily) — J.R. Pool and his wife have more than $1,645 thanks to a recent cruise that turned sour.

“We had a nine-day cruise and were going to go through the Mediterranean,” he told On Your Side.

But the big trip hit a snag when Pool and his wife flew Swiss Airlines to Athens, Greece, to catch the cruise and discovered the airliner had lost their baggage.

According to Pool, Swiss told them to buy new clothes and toiletries and they would be reimbursed.

But, after submitting receipts, they had problems getting their full reimbursement.

However, after On Your Side got involved, Swiss Airlines apologized and wound up returning $1,645 to Pool, who says it only happened because of On Your Side.

“You don’t have a voice. You can post on Facebook. They don’t care. But On Your Side, they know there’s a larger voice and a larger audience,” Pool said.

Thanks to On Your Side, Anna Jolly won’t have to pay $56,000.

Jolly is an author and goes by the pen name of Rebecca Rodarte.

But a company out of Nashville was suing another Rebecca Rodarte for $56,000 and mistakenly served Jolly with the court paperwork because her pen name is the same.

When the Nashville company started garnishing Jolly’s employment checks, On Your Side got involved.

After convincing the company they had the wrong person, the case was dropped. meaning Jolly’s garnishment stopped and she won’t have to pay the $56,000.

“Because you (On Your Side) made that phone call to the company and started to investigate, I don’t think I’d be in this situation right now where I’m just like, yes, thank you so much,” Jolly said.

And then there’s Hazel Bell. She lived in a Phoenix apartment complex and says she gave her 60-day move-out notice as required in hopes of getting her $1,295 security deposit back.

But the property management company claimed they didn’t see her notice until she was 10 days into the move-out window and were keeping her deposit.

That’s when On Your Side got involved. Once I got a hold of the property management company, it reversed course and overnighted Bell a check for $1,295.

“I am so happy that I contacted Gary Harper after seeing all the results that he would get,” Bell said.

When you add up all the money that On Your Side was able to save or recover for our viewers during September, it amounts to $69,929.

For the entire year, it totals $220,412.
