Sierra Linda High School in Phoenix placed on brief lockdown due to alleged threat
No reports of shootings or injuries
PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A Valley high school was placed on a brief lockdown Wednesday morning due to an alleged threat.
Phoenix police say officers were called to Sierra Linda High School, located near 67th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road. Staff from Tolleson Union High School District say they were requested by Phoenix police to enforce the lockdown as authorities investigated “multiple social media threats.”
Authorities say “out of an abundance of caution,” officers searched the campus to make sure students and staff were safe.
There have not been reports of any shootings or injuries, per Phoenix police.
Students were released around 12:15 p.m., the school’s normal release time on early release days.
Arizona’s Family news chopper witnessed over a dozen police vehicles parked outside the school’s entrance. No students or staff were seen being evacuated from the buildings.
A large group was spotted gathering outside the school gates. Several officers in bulletproof vests and armed with firearms are patrolling school grounds.

It’s unclear where the threats stemmed from or if anyone will face charges.
The investigation is ongoing.
