PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A man has learned his fate for selling thousands of fentanyl pills and over seven pounds of meth across the Phoenix area this year.

On Wednesday, Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes announced that Eduardo Cruz was sentenced to five years in prison followed by three years probation supervision for dealing drugs across the Valley.

In addition to the prison time, Cruz was ordered to pay $4,500 to the State Anti-Racketeering Revolving Fund, $10,000 in investigation costs to the Department of Public Safety, and to give up the guns that are involved in this case.

On Feb. 14, Cruz sold around 10,000 fentanyl pills in the Phoenix area and, on March 27, had around 7.05 pounds of methamphetamine for sale.

He was arrested by the Arizona Department of Public Safety and pled guilty to felony charges, including conspiracy to sell a narcotic drug, attempt to possess a dangerous drug for sale and illegally conducting an enterprise.

“My office is committed to protecting Arizona communities from the dangers of drugs like fentanyl and methamphetamine,” said Mayes. “We will keep working to get these drugs off our streets and hold those who distribute them accountable under the law.”
