CHANDLER, AZ (AZFamily) — Thanks to a multi-million dollar grant, some East Valley students are getting a huge boost in their school’s STEM program—and that’s Something Good!

The Chandler Unified School District has been awarded a $5 million grant from Toyota’s Driving Possibilities Program.

Frye Elementary, Galveston Elementary and Willis Junior High School will get a big chunk of the funding to bolster their STEM education.

About a million dollars will increase access to services and reduce barriers for families and students who need extra support.

The Driving Possibilities initiative is designed to inspire students and guide them toward future career pathways in STEM, which includes science, technology, engineering and math.

CUSD says this grant will provide invaluable learning opportunities for its students. The money will allow the elementary schools to hire a STEM coach to work closely with classroom teachers to implement innovative STEM activities.
