PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Arizona’s Family Surprise Squad previously had the honor of giving a generous donation to a Valley woman. Now, she’s being recognized nationally for her incredible work!
Laura Pahules is the founder and president of Control Alt Delete, a nonprofit dedicated to helping domestic violence survivors. Pahules was among the 2024 honorees for the L’Oreal Paris Women of Worth, and she is now named one of the ten incredible female nonprofit leaders across the nation!
Pahules was inspired by her own experiences as a domestic violence survivor. She founded the nonprofit to provide a lifeline for those in need, ensuring they have help right when they need it most.
“Control Alt Delete helps with one time assistance for people escaping domestic violence. We help in that immediate time of need when they’re trying to escape with referrals from victim advocates, police, fire, and prosecutors offices,” she explained. “We facilitated 30,800 escapes from domestic violence that included 59,144 children. And this is Arizona alone.”
Each honoree receives $25,000 to support their charitable cause, mentorship from the L’Oréal Paris network and a national platform to tell their stories.
“I’ll receive the money in October as we go into the holiday season when we know escapes from domestic violence increase. So it’s gonna be a huge boost to the nonprofit,” Pahules said.
