GLENDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — Nurses are among unsung heroes who work long hours, many times on holidays and weekends, to keep us and our families safe and healthy. That’s why it’s Something Good when they are recognized for their hard work.

The American Nephrology Nurses Association (ANNA) announced that Boby Jose, a dedicated Glendale nephrology nurse, was awarded ANNA’s inaugural DAISY Award for Advancing Health Equity for Nephrology Nurses. The award recognizes nephrology nurses who go above and beyond in delivering care to patients and address health disparities among vulnerable communities.

ANNA says Jose exemplifies the values of the award for his dedication to provide care for those who need it most. Jose works at Phoenix Veterans Affairs (VA) Health Care System and has over three decades of experience as a nurse.

Nephrology nurses specialize in patients who require kidney care. Nephrology nursing involves both preventing disease and assessing the health needs of patients and families.
