Yuma County deputies investigating ‘suspicious death’ in Somerton as homicide
SOMERTON, AZ (AZFamily) — The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office says homicide detectives are investigating what’s being called a “suspicious death” at a home in Somerton.
Details are very limited, but the sheriff’s office says they were called out Sunday around 2 p.m. to a home on Rincon De España, less than a mile away from the Somerton airport.
When deputies arrived, they found the person wanted in connection to the welfare check dead. However, authorities have not released the victim’s name, age, or sex.
The sheriff’s office’s Criminal Investigations Bureau is now assuming the investigation as it is investigating the victim’s death as a homicide.
