VP Kamala Harris, Gov. Tim Walz to make campaign stops in Arizona this week
PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Walz are returning to Arizona this week.
Walz will arrive in Phoenix on Tuesday evening after stopping in Reno, Nevada. He’s expected to attend a veteran and military families event in Chandler on Wednesday.
U.S. Senate candidate and current Congressman Ruben Gallego, as well as Jim McCain, the son of late former Arizona Sen. John McCain, are also expected to attend the Chandler event.
After the military event, the Minnesota governor will then meet tribal leaders of the Gila River Indian Community in the Phoenix area.
Later Wednesday evening, Walz arrives in Tucson to speak to supporters at a campaign rally. At this time, no rally is scheduled for Phoenix.
Harris will also be in Arizona this week for an event. It was initially on Friday, but then changed to Thursday. The specifics of her event have not been announced.
Walz and Harris previously visited the Valley in August. More recently, Harris touched on immigration issues during a visit to a border community in Southern Arizona.
On the Republican side, Sen. JD Vance to join a CPAC town hall in Mesa this week.
The campaign visits come as ballots and early voting are set to begin in Arizona.
