PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Devin Booker scored 40 points and the Suns put together their second-straight dominant performance in beating the Cleveland Cavaliers at home 122-101 on Wednesday night.

The Suns are now 6-2 in the last eight games and move into the sixth spot in the Western Conference standings since New Orleans lost.

Along with his 40-piece, Booker had eight assists and one rebound.

Royce O’Neale got his seventh start of the season, replacing the injured Grayson Allen, and he hit six 3s, scoring 17 points and grabbing six boards.

Kevin Durant added 32 points and seven assists.

The Cavs started the fourth quarter on an 8-0 to make it 98-85 Suns with 10:13 left, but then a Drew Eubanks’ dunk started a 6-0 run for Phoenix. Cleveland never got close again.

The Suns hit at least 70 points in the first half for the second straight game, leading the Cavs 72-47.

The Suns had a strong defensive effort in the first quarter, holding the Cavs to 36% from the floor, including 2-11 from beyond the arc. Booker scored 13 points in the quarter.

The Cavs went without a field goal from 6:44 left in the quarter to four seconds left. They also had six turnovers.

Phoenix continued their strong play in the second, and got the hot hand in shooting, 8-10 from 3-point land. The Suns went on a 12-2 run and saw their lead balloon to as many as 28 points, 69-41, after two Jusuf Nurkic free throws.

The Suns continue their final homestand of the season on Friday, hosting the Minnesota Timberwolves.
