PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The Timberwolves defense held the Suns to under 50% shooting, which led to several runs and Phoenix fell in Minnesota 120-95 on Saturday afternoon.

To start the third quarter, Durant and Beal scored 16 points for Phoenix to get the team within 71-67 with 7:03 left.

But then the T-Wolves went on a 21-5 run to end the quarter with a lead of 92-72. Edwards had 18 points in the quarter for Minnesota.

Grayson Allen went to the locker room at 4:44 in the third quarter after a foul on Karl-Anthony Towns with a right ankle injury. Allen scored four points, all from the free-throw line.

Kevin Durant got the scoring going early, with nine points in five minutes for the Suns. He had 11 points in the first quarter.

The Suns shot 52% from the field in the first quarter and were 3-6 from 3-point range but only had a 28-27 lead at the end of the frame.

Suns cooled off a bit in the second quarter, going 0-4 from beyond the arc and shooting 7-17 overall.
