Phoenix Suns announce Summer League schedule
PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The NBA announced the schedule for its 2K25 Summer League on Friday, and with it happening only a few hours away, Phoenix Suns fans won’t have to travel far to get a first in-person look at the team’s new young players.
The 2K25 Summer League will take place July 12-22 at the Thomas & Mack Center and Pavilion at UNLV in Las Vegas.
The Suns will tip off their first game on July 13 against the Golden State Warriors.
Date | Opponent | Venue | Time (PT) | How to Watch |
---|---|---|---|---|
Saturday, July 13 | Golden State Warriors | Thomas & Mack Center | 8 p.m. | ESPN2 |
Tuesday, July 16 | Indiana Pacers | Pavilion | 1 p.m. | ESPNU |
Wednesday, July 17 | Oklahoma City Thunder | Pavilion | 5 p.m. | NBA TV |
Friday, July 19 | Milwaukee Bucks | Thomas & Mack Center | 1 p.m. | NBA TV |
July 20 or 21 | TBD | TBD | TBD | TBD |
Each team will play four games in Summer League from July 12 to 19. After the first four games for each team, the top four teams will advance to the playoff, which will begin with a doubleheader on July 21. The four playoff teams are determined by their winning percentage over the first four games.
The teams that do not advance to the playoff will play a fifth game either July 20 or 21.
Summer League will be the first time Suns fans can see the team’s newly drafted players on the court. The team’s full Summer League roster is yet to be announced.
Phoenix acquired the rights to Virginia forward Ryan Dunn after trading with the Denver Nuggets, who had the 28th overall pick in last Wednesday’s draft.
The 21-year-old Dunn is 6′8″ with a 7′2″ wingspan. While he only averaged 8.1 points and 6.9 rebounds per game last season at Virginia, some scouts have said he is the best defender in the 2024 class. He led the ACC with 2.3 blocks per game and had 1.3 steals per game.
He could have an immediate impact on the team. Since Dunn is not much of a scorer, he could be a nice fit for a Suns squad that already has three dynamic scorers in Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal, plus a great three-point shooter in Grayson Allen.
The Suns traded up in the second round of the draft on Thursday to select Valley native Oso Ighodaro out of Marquette. The 6′10″ power forward grew up in Chandler and attended Desert Vista High School.
Ighodaro brings more experience than the average rookie after playing four years for the highly competitive Marquette Golden Eagles. He’s become known as a talented interior passer and defender, but his floor spacing and rebounding need improvement to hold up at the NBA level.
Tickets for the Las Vegas Summer League are on sale now.
