Man told police he feared for his life before fatally shooting driver in Glendale
GLENDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — A man who allegedly fatally shot another driver at a busy intersection in Glendale on Monday told police he did because he feared for his life.
Glendale Police responded to the shooting call around 8 a.m. at 67th Avenue and Camelback Road.
When officers arrived, they found 29-year-old Ramses Saldano Lopez suffering from a gunshot wound. He was later pronounced dead.
Police believe two trucks were going east on Camelback Road when one truck driver cut the other off, leading to a confrontation.
Police said a 23-year-old man was driving a tan truck. That driver was slowing down and agitating Saldano Lopez, who was driving a larger silver truck pulling a trailer.

According to police, once at the intersection stoplight, Saldano Lopez got out and went to the tan truck, where an argument ensued at the driver’s side window.
The argument became physical, which is when the driver of the tan truck pulled out a gun and fired a single shot at Saldano Lopez.
The driver of the tan truck stayed at the scene and has not been arrested. Police say he remained cooperative throughout the investigation and believed his life was in danger when he fired the gun.
The intersection was closed in all directions, but it has since reopened.
