D-backs second baseman Ketel Marte named MLB All-Star starter

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Arizona Diamondbacks’ Ketel Marte has been playing like the best second baseman in the National League all year and on Wednesday, he was honored for it.

Marte was named as a starter for the NL All-Star team.

It’s his first All-Star game since 2019, when he was also named as a starter.

This season, Marte is batting. 287 with 17 home runs and 50 RBIs.

His .517 slugging and .870 OPS leads all second basemen in the National League.

No other Diamondbacks were named All-Star Game starters.

This year’s All-Star Game is on July 13 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
