Firefighters are battling a large debris fire in north Phoenix early Tuesday morning.

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Firefighters are battling a large debris fire in north Phoenix early Tuesday morning.

The fire broke out around 6 a.m. at a waste transfer station near 21st Avenue and Adobe Drive, just east of Interstate 17.

Fire crews are working to gain control of the fire. Smoke can be seen rising in the area.

It’s unclear if anyone has been injured or how the fire started.
