Rodent droppings, food kept past discard date among violations at Phoenix-area restaurants

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) — Every week, Arizona’s Family looks up restaurants recently inspected by Maricopa County’s Environmental Services Department. Restaurants with some of the highest numbers of “risk factors,” considered major health code violations by inspectors, are selected for our Dirty Dining Report. Here are the Valley restaurants that did not make the grade for Feb. 21, 2024:

Rosati’s Pizza and Sports Pub | 28325 N. Tatum Blvd., Cave Creek

3 violations

• Raw beef patty over cannoli cream
• Tub of mozzarella cheese out of temperature
• Sanitizer solution not strong enough

RnR Restaurant | 3737 N. Scottsdale Rd., Scottsdale

4 violations

• Rodent droppings in food
• Rodent droppings on shelves of dry storage area
• Container of eggs stored on top of cooked pasta
• Raw meatballs and ham not held at proper temperature

The Creek Patio Grill | 28244 N. Tatum Blvd., Cave Creek

5 violations

• Bartender holding phone then cutting limes
• Dishwasher not cleaning properly
• Roast not cooking properly
• Raw chicken, pork and beef out of temperature
• Employee not using gloves

The India Kitchen | 14884 N. Pima Rd., Scottsdale

5 violations

• Workers not washing hands properly
• Marinated raw chicken stored above ready-to-eat sauces
• Cooked chicken/cooked pasta not cooling properly
• Chicken and rice not date marked
• Chicken curry kept past discard date

Eggstasy | 6990 E. Shea Blvd., Scottsdale

5 violations

• Employee jackets on dry storage shelves
• Employee cracking egg then not washing hands
• Boxes of raw chorizo over boxes of bacon
• Cooked chicken breast out of temperature
• Salsa and tuna salad kept past discard date
