Fish kept too long, workers not washing hands among violations at Phoenix-area restaurants
PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) — Every week, Arizona’s Family looks up restaurants recently inspected by Maricopa County’s Environmental Services Department. Restaurants with some of the highest numbers of “risk factors,” considered major health code violations by inspectors, are selected for our Dirty Dining Report. Here are the Valley restaurants that did not make the grade for March. 13, 2024:
Chula Seafood - 20581 N Hayden Road, Scottsdale
3 violations
- Employee on cookline not washing hands properly
- Employee handling ready to eat fruit with bare hands
- Smoked salmon kept past discard date
Longhorn Steakhouse - 1434 S Alma School Rd, Mesa
3 violations
- Employee entered kitchen, but didn’t wash hands before preparing food
- Sanitizer to clean dishes not strong enough
- Cooler not keeping food cold enough
Anthem Country Club Ironwood - 41551 N Anthem Hills Drive, Anthem
3 violations
- Chili kept past discard date
- Cooked pork not held at proper temperature
- Dishwasher not cleaning properly
Chauncey Social - 17767 N Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale
4 violations
- No certified food manager on duty
- Chef handling parsley with bare hands
- Cubed ice in a bag with no label
- Cheese, lettuce and tomato not kept at proper temperature
