PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Every week, Arizona’s Family looks up restaurants recently inspected by Maricopa County’s Environmental Services Department. Restaurants with some of the highest numbers of “risk factors,” considered major health code violations by inspectors, are selected for our Dirty Dining Report. Here are the Valley restaurants that did not make the grade for March. 27, 2024:

Dos Vaqueros Mexican Food - 3414 N 24th Street, Phoenix

3 violations

• Salsa cups stored in ice machine
• Cooked beans not kept hot enough
• No certified food manager on duty

Yen Sushi - 15801 N Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd, Scottsdale

3 violations

• Spray bottle stored on cutting board
• Employee touching clothing and hair then not washing up
• Cooked chicken not kept at proper temperature

Café at the Towers - 4605 E Elwood Street, Phoenix

3 violations

• Raw eggs stored over spinach wraps
• No consumer advisory on menu
• Garbanzo beans kept past discard date

Tequila Cocina and Cantina - 4818 N 7th Street, Phoenix

3 violations

• No hand towels in restroom
• Dishwashing machine not cleaning properly
• Bottles of medicine stored above hand sink

Raices Restaurant - 1916 W Baseline Road, Mesa

4 violations

• Employee peeling plantains while on the phone
• 3 cans of pesticide where they don’t belong
• Chicken, beef and octopus with no date marks
• Stewed pork not cooling properly
