Man arrested after jogger groped in San Tan Valley
SAN TAN VALLEY, AZ (AZFamily) — The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office investigators say they have identified and arrested a suspect who sexually assaulted a jogger in San Tan Valley on Monday.
It happened around 9:30 a.m. on Ocotillo Road near Cambria Drive, which is just east of Ganzel Road.
Deputies said a woman was jogging when a man followed her and then groped her.
PCSO released on Tuesday around 12:15 p.m. two photos of the suspect, who was caught on surveillance video at several nearby businesses after the attack.
Then, around 8:15 p.m., the agency said he had been arrested on Tuesday afternoon.
“Thanks to everyone who shared those photos,” PCSO said on social media. “Because of a new court ruling, we can’t share his name or mugshot with you. But we can tell you that he is off the streets and in our jail tonight.
Deputies didn’t say what charges he could be facing.
“We thank our community and our deputies for helping reinforce the message that this behavior will not be tolerated in Pinal County,” Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb said in a written statement.
