2 days away from a major record as hot nights continue in Phoenix
PHOENIX (AZFamily) — It’s been a common theme this summer: you wake up early only to find that the temperature is still in the 90s. If the temperature at Sky Harbor does not fall below 90 degrees for two more days, we will tie a major record currently held by last year.
Here is how the numbers break down. Through Thursday, we’ve had 33 days in Phoenix when the low temperature stayed at 90 degrees or warmer. Last year (2023), there were a record-breaking 35 days in which the low temperature never dropped below 90.

On Friday morning, the low temperature stayed in the low 90s, so Friday may likely be day 34. This will become official when temperatures stay above 90 through midnight Friday night.
Therefore, we are unofficially one day shy of tying the record for the most “nights in the 90s.”
The 7-day forecast includes a few low temperatures in the 90s, so it’s likely that we will tie or break this record in the coming week, if not sooner.
