Friday forecast brings limited storm chances for Arizona
PHOENIX (AZFamily) — After an active day of storms in the Valley, Friday looks to be much quieter. Look for a high of 108 degrees in the Valley under mostly sunny skies.
Storm chances continue mostly in the higher elevations of northern and eastern Arizona today. Storms are also possible in the foothills north and east of the Valley. Storms in southern Arizona could bring gusty outflows to the Valley as well.
Drier air is moving into Arizona from the west in response to a deep trough of low pressure sinking south along the West Coast. Storm chances decrease over the weekend in the high country to near about 20 percent. The Valley is likely to stay dry and sunny with highs near 106.
Next week could bring a return to a southeasterly flow, which could import enough moisture back into Arizona for storm chances Tuesday and Wednesday. We’ll update you as we get closer.
