PHOENIX (AZFamily) — We have set a record of 100 straight days with highs at or above 100 degrees. That is the longest streak on record; the previous record was 76 straight days.
It was not a bad start to our morning, with lows in the upper 80s. This afternoon, get ready; we will see plenty of sunshine and temperatures around 108.
Get ready for the heat. Starting tomorrow, temperatures will once again rise above 110 degrees. Because of the heat, we have issued a First Alert through Friday.
Thursday will be the hottest day, with a high of 114 degrees, a new record for that date.
As we get closer to the weekend, temperatures will cool down slightly. We will see plenty of sunshine and temperatures around 108 on Saturday, our average high this time of year is 103.
