Excessive Heat Warning closes Camelback Mountain and Piestewa Peak trails
PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The City of Phoenix has announced that popular hiking trails in the Valley will be temporarily closed over the next few days as dangerous heat continues to impact the state.
On Wednesday, the City shared that trails on Camelback Mountain and Piestewa Peak will be closed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Friday, Sept. 6.
The closure is due to an Excessive Heat Warning the National Weather Service has issued for parts of Arizona.
Temperatures are expected to stay in the triple digits and reach a high of 113 in the Valley.
