Man arrested in deadly stabbing at north Phoenix gas station
PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Police have announced an arrest after a late-night stabbing at a north Phoenix gas station on Monday.
Phoenix police responded to the stabbing around 11 p.m. at a QuikTrip gas station at the intersection of Cave Creek and Union Hills roads.
Officers found a 54-year-old man who had been stabbed, and he was taken to the hospital, where he later died. The man’s identity has not been released.
Homicide detectives identified the suspect as Matthew Ryan Fain, 41, who was detained nearby without incident.

Detectives said they collected evidence and interviewed several people, including Fain.
Fain was then arrested and has been booked into the Maricopa County jail on a first-degree murder charge.
A booking photo wasn’t immediately available.
Investigators are still working to learn what led up to the shooting and determine a possible motive.
